Canning and other processes have been used by past generations to preserve food (meats, fruits, veggies, etc) since the dawn of mankind. Our parents and grandparents may have 'canned' or stored different items for the family at sometime in their lives. This blog is intended to take a step back into the future so that I can understand the processes my mothers and grandmothers followed so that they could bring their families a fresh taste of summer during the winter season.
